Spanning Multiple Columns:
Cells within a table can also span multiple columns. Click on the cell to
select it, and then right click to access the Cell Properties Dialog Box.
The number of columns can be selected to span in the Cell Span area.
Note: A cell can only span as many columns as there
are in the table.
Another Note: Notice the similarities between the
Cell Properties Dialog Box and the Table Properties Dialog Box.
Cell Alignment: Text and image alignment can be
controlled horizontally and vertically. Text and images can be left
aligned, right aligned, or centered from the Format toolbar's alignment
icons located to the right of the text color icon. (The cursor covers
the text color icon in the picture below). |

|
|
 |
|
Lists Inside Tables:
Click inside the cell where the list is to be located. Click the alignment
icon of your choice, (left, centered, or right) and then click the
Bulleted List icon on the Format toolbar. Add the text of your choice, and
then press enter to add a new line of text.
Controlling Table Colors: Colors are controlled
table wide from the Table Properties Box, or in individual cells with the
Cell Properties Dialog Box. A named color can be used; or a custom color
can be defined. The background color and the border color can be
controlled within a table.
Note: Tables are easier to work with than they
might appear to be at first glance. Tables make it so images and/or text
can be arranged precisely on a web page. They also give the page a clean,
professional appearance.
Caution: Tables appear differently on a web page depending on what
internet browser is being used. |
