Note: For the purposes of this tutorial I
chose to grayscale the image as well but it is not entirely necessary
depending on circumstances. It is necessary to make the
image transparent however for fashioning a background because it would
be too prominent otherwise. You don't want the background to
overwhelm the content on your page. Click the tile at the bottom
of the page to view on a separate web page.
1. First fashion a sprite or series of sprites into
the logo of your choice. Remember to make the image slightly
larger than 128X128 pixels. Then save it and import the image into
Background Magic.
2. Once imported drag and drop the image into the
location for image 1.
3. In this case I want the background to have the
look of wrinkled paper. Some textures and colors choices might
overwhelm, so I chose the middle tile below.
4. Drag and drop the middle tile above into the
space for Image 2 below. See the Final Image. It looks very
close to the desired effect; but let's tweak it just a bit.
5. Click on the Image 2 tile. Notice how the
words Image 2 are emboldened. Now when you make changes with the
Image Adjustment buttons they only effect Image 2. Click
Sharpen. Then you can either Keep or Undo the changes. Click
Keep.
6. Slide the brightness control to 113, and the
Image Blend at 44% toward the logo tile as indicated below.
7. Click the tile below to view it on a web
page. It looks nice. You're a genius!
