1. Click on the Stubby's Gator Farm
sprite to enable it. Then click the Effects tool button. (Pictured far
left below). The Effects Tool Box opens. Click the arrow on the
Category drop down box (middle picture below) and choose All Effects. Then
scroll through the list of effects until you find Gradient (Square). Click
the Gradient (Square) icon as indicated below. Notice a dark line around
the Gradient (Square) effect when enabled. |

2. Click the Details tab of the Gradient
(Square) Effect. The Gradient (Square) Effect Details dialog box appears.

3. The Color Picker dialog box appears.
Make sure the True Color tab is enabled. Then go to the color sliders
located on the right middle of the Color Picker dialog box. Here you may
enter your numbers in the spaces provided, (RGB values), or click on the
sliders and drag to the desired numbers. Either way works fine. Enter the
following RGB values, R:255, G:102, B:102. Click OK. |

4. Click on the bottom right hand small
square. The Color Picker dialog box appears. Enter the following RGB
values, R: 247, G:133, B:133 in the boxes as described in step three (3).
Those values should give you a lighter shade of red in the bottom right
hand corner of the gradient. (See left hand diagram below). Click OK. |

6. With only one more gradient corner to
go, click the top right hand small square. (See diagram on the left
below). The Color Picker dialog box appears. Enter the RGB values, R: 219,
G: 223, B: 215 in the boxes described in detail in step three (3). (See

7. You're officially done with the
gradient. You could have used the eyedropper tool to get your last
greenish color as well by clicking on the top left hand small square. Then
click the Eyedropper tool and then click on the top left hand small square
of the gradient. The Eyedropper tool does not pick an exact RGB value, but
it is close. The RGB values that you entered in step six were picked with
the Eyedropper tool in the way described). Notice the numbers aren't the
exact ones entered in the top left small square. |

8. Keep your finished gradient sprite on your work
area. You will need it for other Image Composer tutorials.
Hint: The Effects tools are alphabetized for user's
convenience.
Tool Tip: You can pick any color that is on your
desktop, click on it, and it will show the RGB values in the Color Picker
Dialog box when you have the Eyedropper tool enabled. |
