Magic - Full Background |
Note: The following procedure constructs a full
background with Background Magic.
1. Save the following tile in a folder in the My
Documents folder on your desktop. |

2. Open the Background Magic program,
then choose Options, then choose Images from the Options Dialog Box. The
Import/Remove Images Dialog Box appears, (pictured below). Browse for the
above file you saved in your hard drive C, under My Documents, in this
case BM_tut, yellow1.jpg. (BM_tut is a folder that was placed in the My
Documents folder on my computer. Your folder could have a different name).
Click Import, the Import/Remove Images Dialog Box disappears. The Options
Dialog Box appears again, click Apply. |

3. Click and hold down on the image slide bar and then
scroll until you find the yellow1.jpg that you just imported. |

4. Left click on the yellow1.jpg and drag
it into the Image 1 box pictured below. Release your mouse to drop the
yellow1.jpg into place. Then click and hold down on the image slide bar
scrolling until you find the image tile pictured as Image 2. Click and
drag it into place in the same fashion you did the yellow1.jpg. |

5. Left click on the yellow1.jpg now
located in the Image 1 box. Then under Image Adjustment click the Sharpen
button. Then slide the Red slider to 47%, Green to 87%, and Blue to 121%.
Leave the brightness slider set to 100%. You should get a representation
similar to the one pictured below in the Image 1, Image 2, and Final Image
boxes. |

6. Left click on the image tile
represented as Image 2 above. Then under Image Adjustment click the Invert
button, (pictured below to the left. You should get a representation
similar to the one pictured below in the Image 2 box. Click Keep under
Image Adjustment. |

7. Then slide the Red slider to 95%,
Green to 63%, and Blue to 47%. Leave the brightness slider set to 100%. A
representation appears in the Image 2 box similar to the one pictured
below. |

8. Left click on the Final Image and then
set the Brightness to 84%, and leave the Red, Green, and Blue percentages
set at 100%. You should get an image like Stubby's full background below.
Click Save and then save the file under an appropriate name and folder. |

Note: Don't close
Background Magic if you wish to do the Left Backgrounds and Blank Banners
and Words tutorials because they assume you're using the full tile you
just fashioned in this tutorial.
Timely Tip: Left Side Backgrounds and Banners
Buttons can still be fashioned if you remember to save your newly made
image tile. Just import the new image back into Background Magic and then
place it in the spaces for Image 1 and Image 2. That places your original
image into the Final Image and you can progress from there making
adjustments. |
