Leap Wireless Will Begin Selling Prepaid iPhone

Leap Wireless International Inc. said Thursday that it will start selling Apple’s iPhone through its Cricket Communications Inc. next month. 

Leap Wireless is an American public telecommunication company that provides wireless services through its subsidiary - Cricket Communications.

Starting June 22, the company will sell the iPhones with a $55 no-contract plan that includes unlimited calling and text messages, according to sources. The plan also includes 2.3GB of data. 

The 16GB iPhone 4S will cost $499.99, while the 8GB iPhone 4 will cost $399.99., according to sources. 

“Our customers want the best products available,” Doug Hutcheson, chief executive officer of Leap, said in a statement. “Launching iPhone is a major milestone for us and we are proud to offer iPhone customers attractive nationwide coverage, a robust 3G data network and a value-packed, no-contract plan.”
